With a prolific career spanning over two decades, Dr. Safavi has established himself as a pioneering force in the biotechnology and technology sectors. As the Founder, CEO, and President of Colorado Health & Tech Centers, he has positioned the organization as Colorado’s premier biotech and technology workspace solutions leader, with over one million square feet of workspace solutions currently being planned and constructed. His entrepreneurial spirit and vision have enabled the creation of thriving environments for innovative biotech and tech companies across the region.
In addition to his leadership at Colorado Health & Tech Centers, Dr. Safavi also serves as Founder, CEO, and President of Safavi Holdings, LLC, where he specializes in early-stage investments in biotechnology and technology, as well as commercial real estate. His investment portfolio is a testament to his keen ability to identify and nurture groundbreaking companies and projects.
Beyond these roles, Dr. Safavi has made significant contributions as a Co-Founder, Chairman of the Board, and Chief Science Officer at Canine Biologics. Under his leadership, the company has championed a novel approach to canine nutrition, focusing on improving the quality of life for dogs undergoing cancer treatment. This integrated nutritional strategy supports energy maintenance and overall health, ensuring that dogs can continue creating cherished memories with their families.
As Chairman of the Board at Chimeron Bio, Dr. Safavi has played an integral role in steering the company’s development of self-amplifying RNA therapeutics, positioning Chimeron at the forefront of the gene therapy and personalized medicine landscape. His dedication to advancing therapeutics has also been evident in his tenure at BioAgilytix, where he served as Founder and Global Chief Scientific Officer for over 15 years. Here, he built a leading bioanalytical contract research organization, offering comprehensive services across multiple disease areas and contributing to the successful development of novel therapeutic biologics and biosimilars.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Safavi held senior leadership positions at companies such as AAIPharma Services Corp. and Talecris Biotherapeutics, where he led assay development and laboratory operations, oversaw preclinical and clinical studies, and established state-of-the-art laboratories that have set industry standards for excellence and innovation. His expertise in bioanalysis, immunogenicity studies, and regulatory compliance have been pivotal in his success.
